Research and Data Analysis
Research from the social sciences perspective is a diverse topic because within this and any other discipline, researchers can use a number of different methods to conduct research. These methods can include unobtrusive observation, participant observation, case studies, interviews, focus groups, surveys, ex post facto studies, laboratory experiments, and field experiments.
Despite this diversity in methods used and topics investigated and regardless of field, most research involves an investigator gathering data and performing analyses to determine what the data mean. However, all the research data gathered would be useless if not finalized by a proper and thorough analysis, be that qualitative or quantitative or both.
